Earth's Natural Nutrients & Minerals
Cosmetic grade clays are used to promote health, healing, and clean and exfoliate oils, dead skin cells, and dirt from the skin and pores. They are extremely rich in nutrients and minerals and help draw toxins from the skin and increase blood circulation, leaving your skin feeling silky smooth.
We use the following clays in our products. French Green Clay, Bentonite Clay, Moroccan Red Clay & Kaolin Clay.
What does each clay do?
Bentonite Clay: Bentonite clay, also known as living clay, is harvested from naturally occurring volcanic ash in the United States. It can be taken internally to supplement mineral deficiencies and to rid toxins from the body. This clay is good for oilier skin tones.
French Green Clay: Mined in France, natural French green clay is highly absorbent, pulling oils, toxins, and impurities from your skin. This clay is wonderful for the complexion, tightening pores, repairing damaged skin cells, stimulating the skin, and helping to clear problem skin.
Kaolin Clay: also called White clay and/or China clay, is the most commonly found clay in skin care preparations, powders, deodorants, and cosmetics. It is a fine, fluffy, soft white clay that is easily mixed with water to apply to the face or body. White clay is the mildest of all clays and can be used on dry, sensitive, and normal skin.
Moroccan Red Clay: Red Clay is an excellent moisturizing and cleansing facial clay. Moroccan red clay is considered one of the more rare and pure clays of the Earth. It has been used for health and beauty for centuries. Its tendencies to readily cleanse, exfoliate, absorb impurities and detoxify the skin, combined with its ability to improve conditions of dryness, scaliness and to clarify skin texture and firmness make it very desirable.
Pumice is a volcanic ash which is formed when lava is permeated with gas. Because lava has similar poroperites and chemical make up as glass, pumice is very abrasive but unlike glass, it is very soft. Pumice is the softest abrasive media in use today.
I am simply in heaven when I use on of our pumice exfoliating soaps, not only does it polish my skin by removing old, dead skin, but it also permits my razor to get closer to the hair folicle for a closer, smoothe shave.
Try using one of Masquerade Market's exfoliating soaps along with one of our shave bars and your skin will have never felt so soft or smooth.
